Book One of the Utterly Crime Series
A Suffolk-based crime novel in which three apprentice carpenters face a home grown terrorist attack aimed at the Wattisham Airbase helicopters.
Chrissie, Nick and Matt are apprentice carpenters from a fictional Utterly Academy in Stowmarket. Placed in carpentry firms in Needham Market and close to Wattisham, a previous “accidental” death triggers a train of consequences. The action soon escalates around the county, from Bury St Edmonds to Ipswich, and features cranky cars, quirky T-shirts and the Suffolk countryside.
Reviewers say …
‘An excellent read, a good balance of humour, tension and intrigue! It makes a lovely change to have all the towns and villages local to me – Debbie Reeder’ (amazon.co.uk)
‘Well developed, exciting plot with well-rounded characters. Full of amusing incident and subtle humour. A good easy read well worthwhile picking up. I just had to stay up to finish the book – Saga’ (amazon.co.uk)
‘Written in a distinctive and refreshing style, the scenes set with impressive attention to detail and an obvious knowledge and love of rural Suffolk. There is plenty of action, and the characters are highly engaging and believable – I found myself caring about them, wanting to know what would happen to them next, and feeling impelled to keep turning the pages to find out! At the same time, I was sorry to come to the end, and was pleased to learn that there are to be more in the series – Chris Diva’ (amazon.co.uk
